I feel certain that my sister, who lives in Connecticut, will be buttoning up in the next few months but I am not so certain that folks here on this sunny island in southwest Florida are buying it! I mean, afterall, “comfort” is part of the island lifestyle, right?!
This is the time of year when I am spending most of my time forecasting what the fall and spring seasons will look like for my stores…and now, our website, too. Over the next couple of months you will see lots of new merchandise added that’s on order for deliveries in October, November and December. Cute new styles by Clara Sun Woo like these great leather-like skinny pants and fun brightly colored tunics! HOT!
You CAN be chic and casual and comfortable all at once contrary to what the “experts” might say!
Now I know that I was spotted recently posting photos of my favorite Oscar de la Renta floral dress… and there is definitely a time and a place for that, but here on a sandy beach admiring one of our magnificent sunsets just isn’t one of them! Folks come to our little slice of paradise to relax…chill out…enjoy a margarita for heavens sake. Our “fashion” needs to be spill proof…flexible…salty! Yes, salty! A little flirty!
Like I said, this is a time when I am looking at the year’s sales and forecasting the next year. That includes something that’s easy to snuggle up in and yet cute enough to go out to dinner with your favorite person! It’s how we roll!
Though I am always tempted by the latest trends, I recognize after all these years that my job is to find that perfect fit for you….and I feel pretty sure that it’s not all about being “buttoned up”, “laced”, or “tailored!” So raise a glass, margarita or merlot, to this coming year’s latest fashions….and the style and comfort that WE will bring you here at The Best of Ft.
